The collective RecPlay has been initiated in late 2001 on the Royal Academy of Visual Arts in The Hague by the Interfaculty ArtScience / Image And Sound students.The line-up of the group has changed constantly over the years. Although there are core-members that are active nowadays. By time, the process of making sounds has changed and developed in many ways. From a Duchamp ready-made metallic instruments, all the way to the latest models of Apple laptop computers. Nevertheless, the spirit behind the creative process, has remained truly experimental in its constant quest for ambient landscapes and harsh sonic battlefields.
